What do you think of Pantone’s color of the year for 2015? For me, I’m still unsure. It’s very sophisticated, so that’s a good thing for some people. But it seems like a color you would see on Mad Men. I’ve never seen the show so maybe I’m totally wrong. It also looks like a color from the 70’s. It’s too rusty for me. I lean more towards light and airy colors, like in my last post Beach Color Palette.
Having said that, it is a beautiful color. It will bring warmth to your space when used as an accent. I don’t think I would use it for upholstery or anything large such as painting an entire room. But when added in small doses in your pillows, throw blankets and artwork, it could be a nice addition. It also pairs well with the soft color they have in the photo above. It looks very similar to Restoration Hardware’s Silver Sage……which I just painted my living room with. I will post photos of that project when the entire room is finished. We still have a few finishing touches to go. You never know, maybe Marsala will find it’s way in!
I also like the fact this year’s color of the year is more earthy. The past few years have been very bright. Last year was Radiant Orchid, and Pantone’s color of the year in 2013 was Emerald. I’m not really into these bright colors either. Except pink. I do like almost every shade of pink!!
What do you think of the color of the year for 2015??
